1. Swiss Crypto Stamp
Die erste Krypto-Briefmarke der Schweiz erschien am 25.11.2021, und war innert 24 Stunden komplett ausverkauft. Sie ist auf 175 000 Exemplare limitiert und wurde vom Zürcher Künstler Gregor Forster gestaltet.
2. Funding Open Source Projects
In economics, a public good – also referred to as a social good or collective good – is a good that is both non-excludable and non-rivalrous. For such utilities, users cannot be barred from accessing or using them for failing to pay for them. The Internet has increased the number of public goods. Software developed under an Open Source license is a great example for public goods.
3. Crypto Valley on Clubhouse
In January 2021, I joined Clubhouse for the first time to mainly listen to a discussion initiated by Emi Lorincz entitled Crypto Convo Switzerland. Emi is based in Zürich and represents crypto hardware wallet Ledger in the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) regions. She’s also a board member of the independent, government-supported Crypto Valley Association who’s trying to create the world’s best ecosystem for cryptographic and distributed ledger-based businesses in Switzerland and beyond.
4. Hyvä – Magento Re-Imagined
Hyvä is Finnish for good, desirable, advisable. Hyvä Themes are Magento 2 Themes built from scratch using a completely blank theme. All layout.xml, .phtml files, and all JavaScript have been thrown out. Hyvä Themes have only 2 dependencies by default:
All Hyvä products are built with the purpose to lower dependencies on 3rd party libraries trying to keep the technology stack limited to as few dependencies as possible. The core values are simplicity by reduced complexity, quality, performance and fun.
5. Magento Themes on Steroids
In October 2021 Reacticon, a conference for Magento and Shopware frontend development, was dedicated to Hyvä – Magento themes on steroids. The conference was streamed live on YouTube for free. Almost one year ago at Reacticon #3, Hyvä founder Willem Wigman, announced a new frontend for Magento. We already introduced Hyvä on this blog last month, so if you haven’t heard about it, you might want to read Hyvä – Magento Re-Imagined first.

7. Magento Open Source Community Alliance
On September 14, 2012 Willem Wigman and Vinai Kopp from Hyvä Themes together with other community members published an open letter to the Magento community to announce a new initiative that will focus on safeguarding the future of Magento Open Source.
