In December 2022, the OpenMage project released 3 minor updates in their mission to provide continued long-term support (LTS) for Magento 1. It is recommended for all Magento 1 merchants to upgrade to OpenMage 19.x or 20.x to benefit from regular security patches and performance optimizations. All of our Magento 1 merchants have been migrated to OpenMage. If you’re still using Magento 1 with PHP 7.x or 5.6 – WTF!?11!1! 🤬 – we highly recommend you upgrade to OpenMage 19.x. In order to be able to do that, you will also have to upgrade or patch your Magento extensions to be compatible with PHP 8.1. If you’re not a developer, we’re happy to assist. Depending on the number of extensions you’re using, that might be a couple hours of work. Totally worth it, though!
Supported PHP Versions
OpenMage supports PHP 8.0, PHP 8.1 support will hopefully come with one of the next releases.
